Job Summary/Basic Function: Position Summary Information: Under direction from the Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness, this position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating analytical information to relevant stakeholders across campus (including, but not limited to, deans department chairs, directors, faculty, staff, and students). This position is involved in ongoing evaluation of effectiveness and assessment campus-wide; maintains and implements an assessment schedule of activities and events calendar. Enhances the culture of continual program assessment in all college divisions and departments as required for SACS-COC, professional accreditations and program excellence. Advises, supports, and provides general customer service for all educational, academic support, and student service assessment units on campus.
Provide technical and customer support to faculty and staff for annual assessment activities, as well as training in assessment software.
Work with faculty and staff to develop, mentor, and evaluate assessment methods and tools.
Manage SmartEvals, Lamar University's online course evaluation system (scheduling and implementing evaluation periods and releasing results).
Maintain and update relevant areas of the Office of Planning and Assessment website through the content management system (CMS).
Must be able to gather, analyze, and disseminate data in a logical and meaningful way.
Assist with data analysis with general education, core curriculum, and Lamar's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for related reports.
Serve on relevant committees as needed.
Attend professional conferences as required.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and comply with established deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work effectively with others within the university. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical packages (SPSS), as well as Qualtrics. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to interpret data, write professional reports that clearly convey research results, and provide recommendations on how to use the results to improve institutional effectiveness. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Banner, student course evaluation databases, and Weave Education. Experience in academic program or curriculum assessment. Familiarity with SACS-COC or another regional accreditation body. Experience in a higher education setting directly related to assessment.
