The College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington, seeks applicants for a tenured or tenure-track position to teach and conduct nursing research related to patient safety and other patient outcomes using health technology and /or data science. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.
The College of Nursing is particularly interested in recruiting nurse scientists who can make a significant contribution to the college's overarching theme of programming and research in health and disease across the lifespan, with a focus on advancing health and the human condition. While all areas of nursing research important for transforming healthcare for the future will be considered, preference will be given to those with an academic interest and research background in Urban Health, Patient Safety, Patient Centered Outcomes and Data Science. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding and interest in multidisciplinary studies of how social determinants of health affect the health of populations. Relevant research backgrounds may include evaluation, health disparities, social determinants of health, and social and economic development among others. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their teaching, research and service, must to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas with a minimum of two years of clinical practice experience, preferred. In addition, candidates in their early career must demonstrate strong potential to develop a research program supported by external funding, while more established candidates must demonstrate active, externally funded research agendas.
Faculty actively collaborates with our Kinesiology and Public Health colleagues within the college, in particular in workplace safety, community-dwelling elders, early interventions for children and community based interventions for obesity in Hispanic youth. Collaboration with colleagues in other colleges and departments are common. We foster and support multidisciplinary research and education.

Applicants with history of research publications and funding and has a post-doctoral fellowship are preferred.
