1) Research Activity (80%)
Contribute to the design of each experiment
Engage in research into the cellular and molecular basis of human diseases including chronic inflammatory disease and epithelial cancer.
Employ technology developed in the laboratory to clone normal or cancerous epithelial tem cells.
Use a combination of genomic technologies, single-cell analysis, and cell biology to identify pathogenic stem cells.
Handle animals which includes monitoring animals for illness, disease, or tumors.
Assist with writing experiment protocols for compliance.
Complies, writes and submits reports during weekly lab meetings and collaborator meetings.
Occasional travel to present posters and abstracts at scientific conferences.
2) Data Analysis and Publication (10%)
Document activities in daily lab notes, develop, and revise techniques as required for efficiency and quality. Independently analyze scientific data and draw reasonable conclusion. Help to prepare the manuscript for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
3) Lab Management (10%)
Monitor lab inventory and estimate quantities and types of supplies needed in the lab.
