Texas A&M University-San Antonioâ™s is seeking a Content Producer to join the recently restructured marketing and communications unit within the new Division of University Relations. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this inaugural role will support the institutionâ™s content strategy and priorities across multiple delivery channels informed by next strategic plan in development (âœTransforming Tomorrow Together: 2022-2026). The Content Producer will contribute to the team responsible for strengthen the institutionâ™s reputation, creating dynamic strategies through high quality, distinctive and results-driven communications campaigns, deliverables and engagement to inform, influence and impact. Continued improvement of a comprehensive, dynamic integrated marketing strategy.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative team that works to highlight A&M-Antonioâ™s distinctiveness as an HSI, its strengths, academic excellence, student focus and values by telling authentic and compelling stories to engage key audiences.
Serves as an essential member of the University's crisis and communication team and may be required to work outside of typical business hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Source and create high quality content designed to enhance University reputation, enrollment, fundraising and community impact for publication and messaging across the integrated marketing and communication mix (including print, social media, video, digital and collateral).
Conceptualize multimedia treatments to enhance storytelling impact and coordinating with the communications and marketing team to produce them.
Contribute to all aspects of the communications and content strategy teamâ™s responsibilities as needed, including but not limited to media relations, social media, external and internal communications and crisis communications.
Perform communications and marketing duties as assigned, including proofreading, email design and other tasks.
Work collaboratively with an with cross functional, collaborative groups responsible for developing and implementing A&M-San Antonioâ™s marketing and communications strategies across its print and digital channels.
Assist with maintaining a comprehensive editorial calendar in line with brand, product, and executive, centralized and internal communications strategies.
Cover assigned stories or identify potential stories, cultivate sources, conduct interviews and research, and write accurate, engaging copy for marketing collateral including digital platforms.
Collaborate and develop content contributing to the various projects and priorities across the division and institution to define messaging and copywriting that supports the strategy and tactics for communications and marketing campaigns.
Develop client strategies aligned with university goals, priorities and initiatives.
Manage and develop content for major magazines and other high profile publications such as the University Magazine, website, promotions, brochures, events and advertisements aligned with enrollment, fundraising, initiatives and reputation and distinctiveness.
Maintains a base of knowledge about current trends, emerging issues and opportunities in higher education and industry that inform future comprehensive content and communications strategies while being a data-savvy practitioner across diverse platforms.
Contributes to setting the vision, strategy and long-term management approach for an integrated marketing and communications and content strategies including developing and maintaining university reputation and identity guidelines and use of resources such as templates, digital monitors and environmental branding.
May serve as a divisional senior representative and emergency and crisis management teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks, evolving priorities and quick, timely, accurate production deadlines.
Must have strong writing and editing skills, be familiar with AP style and writing for digital platforms.
Must work well independently and as a constructive member of a team with the ability to guide and inspire staff in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial culture while determining marketing and communication priorities.
Must be enthusiastic about promoting higher education in a diverse and inclusiveenvironment.
This position must work well with students, faculty and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
â‹Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English, Writing, Communications or a related field. Masterâ™s degree preferred.
Three years of experience creating content across multiple media venues (digital, video, social media, print) and understanding audience preferences, style and editing for appropriate channel distributions and formats.
Preferred Education and Experience:
10Â years ofÂ relatedÂ experience.Â
Five years of supervisory experience of communication professionals including social media, video and photography, writer/editors and content producers.
Previous experience as a contributor to a highly functioning, quality focused creative and/or content production teams and record of effective collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Experience in translating complex ideas and concepts or original thinking into clear and compelling copy to drive awareness, calls to action and engagement.
Excellent verbal and written communication across multiple platforms including print, digital, video, and other content-related platforms including key words and SEO.
Knowledge of and experience in higher education environments (academic, administrative).
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others and assign, monitor and recommend staffing and resource allocation including in-source and outsourcing and development and management of contractors including scope of work, project management and successful implementation.
