Greater Texas HERC

   The incumbent:

• Provides educational instruction in assigned subject/topic areas to include reading, writing, mathematics, computer skills and other topics as assigned.
• Conducts student assessment and testing, educational/vocational goal setting, and options counseling to assigned students.
• Provides instruction that produces educational improvements for students as measured by student pre/post educational testing.
• Provides instruction that produces educational improvements as defined by Texas Department of Education educational standards.
• Contacts any student who has an unexplained absence to discuss progress, offer assistance, and encourage retention.  Documents contact with absent students.
• Develops and submits learning documentation and progress forms (lesson plans, student portfolios, testing results, and other learning documentation) for assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
• Prepares and submits student-related forms (student evaluations; student/attendance forms; tracking and information forms, informal assessments, and other required student-related documents) for assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
• Complete and submits staff-related forms (timesheets, risk management forms, professional development forms, materials/supplies tracking forms, and other required staff-related documents) in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
• Immediately notifies immediate supervisor of any and all support services that students may need.
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to program/project policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommends corrective actions to immediate supervisor. 
• Respects confidentiality in discussing clients, staff, volunteers, and corporate matters; also maintains confidentiality of corporate/project fiscal and personnel related information.
• Keeps immediate supervisor informed of pursuit and acquisition of continuing education to maintain credentials.
• Attends all directed meetings, seminars, workshops, staff development trainings, etc.; overnight travel occasionally required.
• Reports to work regularly and on time.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
